The Translation Work Is Already Done.

Translation is one of the most consistent bottlenecks in eCOA startup. For most studies, it no longer needs to be.

Why Translation Slows Studies Down

Translation is one of the most consistent sources of delay in eCOA startup. Until now, eCOA vendors commission translations study by study, each requiring its own linguistic validation, review cycle, and study-specific certificate of translation. This means repeating work and introducing timeline delays that, in many cases, could be avoided.

A Unique Library
Built for Reuse

Signant's eCOA library holds around 970 master English instruments and approximately 9,000 translations, approximately 1,000 of which carry fully validated, version-specific certificates of translation and associated documentation, ready to use out of the box.

For translations not yet in the library, Signant's API integration with our translation partner enables new translations to be completed with approximately 30% shorter cycle times, with output writing directly into our design environment and verified against device screen formats.

What this means for your study

FOR EXISITING TRANSLATIONS

When a validated translation already exists in the library, the startup process changes materially. There is no repeat validation, no wait for a certificate, and no documentation to assemble from scratch.

FOR ESTABLISHED INDICATIONS

While some measures will still require a license-holder approval step, sponsors working in established indications and languages can move directly to multilingual implementation.

FOR NEW LANGUAGES OR INSTRUMENTS

For new languages or instruments without existing coverage, the integrated workflow with our translation partner compresses what is typically a months-long process.

The practical result is earlier global readiness, reduced translation spend,
and a startup timeline that reflects the work already done.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know whether a validated translation already exists for my study?
The Signant library is searchable by instrument and language. When you discuss your protocol with our team, we can provide a rapid assessment of library coverage relevant to your study before any commitment is made.
What happens when my language or instrument is not in the library?
Signant's integration with our translation partner covers new translation requirements. The workflow reduces cycle time by around 30% compared to conventional processes, with output writing directly into the platform.
Are library translations accepted by instrument license holders?
Validated translations in the library each carry a version-specific certificate of translation consistent with license holder and regulatory expectations. Provenance and documentation are maintained to support submission-grade evidence requirements.
How many validated COA instruments are in your library?
Signant has a growing number of measures in our multilingual library, spanning oncology, CNS, dermatology and other therapeutic areas. We currently have around 970 instruments in out eCOA library.
